Postal 3 Now Available

Finally, the sequel to Postal 2 is available and you can buy it right HERE. The only problem is that the game isn't what it's been cracked up to be.

According to numerous reviews, the game has almost completely abandoned the free roaming atmosphere, opting instead for a much more linear and forced story line. All the free time to walk around and do what you want is all gone. Also, melee tends to be very glitchy as most attacks rarely ever connect.

Overall, it could be a great game, but some major issues like the faulty fists and lack of freedom limit how good the game is.

New Far Cry 3 Footage

A few days ago, Ubisoft released almost six minutes of preview footage! As you probably expected, it's mostly guys being shot with pistols and assault rifles. You can preorder the PC version HERE or get the PS3 version HERE. If you want the same graphics as in the video, you can get the Xbox version HERE.

There’s also quite a bit of hallucinations and drugs, too, which usually doesn't come up in these sorts of videos. It’s clearly using a lot of the Far Cry 2 stuff, which doesn't surprise me, and I don’t think it’ll actually be that different. Just so you know, It’s 360 footage.

This gets kinda trippy.

Mojang GameJam Has Gone Live!

Minecraft creators, Mojang are building a game right in front of your eyes, all for charity. The team have started Mojam, a weekend of sleepless game development to aid the Humble Bundle. The type of game they’re building was put to vote, and looks like it’ll be an Egyptian Steampunk RTS Shoot ‘Em Up. If they make a million dollars, Notch will shave his beard. We have the stream for you below.

Watch live video from mojang on www.twitch.tv

Don't forget to buy it, because I seriously hate that beard.

Valve Announces CS:GO

Sorry for the wait guys. HERE is a little gift for being so patient. "Sorry 4 the Wait" by Little Wayne.  No worries, it's free, and best of all, legal. If you don't like hip-hop, then check out the rest of goodmusicallday.com they have some other stuff too.

Anyways, lets get to the article.

Honestly Valve? You spend all your time making great games, that aren't the ones we constantly bitch at you for. Well, I guess it's better than EVEN MORE TF2 HATS.

This new game is one that caught me completely off guard, because it's a follow-up to a game with no story, Counter-Strike (I linked to the Valve source version). It is also one of the most popular games ever, and doesn't need a follow up other than things that could be included in updates.

The new one is called CS:GO, or Counter-Strike:Global Offensive. It's supposed to come out in 2012 sometime, but you can't pre-order or anything, and there's no screenshots other than the logo:

Also, the game will include a lot from the old games, such as classic maps, (de_dust etc.) but will introduce new game modes, matchmaking, leader boards and all that other good stuff.

More Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Awesome. Just pure awesome. The Assassin's Creed series has always been one of my favorites. A little earlier, it was announced along with several movies by Ubisoft, check the post HERE. Anyway, Ubisoft decided to give us a little extra information on the game, releasing a teaser trailer and a couple more screenshots.

Here's the trailer. It's pretty awesome, though it doesn't give much of a plot or info about the game.

Also, they released a bunch of screenshots and a bit of art, seen below:

In terms of plot, they released a little bit, but not enough to spoil anything.

We're back with good ol' Ezio Auditore, running around Constantinople kicking some templars in the nuts. You'll get a bunch of new weapons and abilities, including the hookblade, as you can see in the first screenshot. You'll also be able to craft bombs and you'll have better eagle vision. There are also a couple of cool new locations like the Assassin's stronghold in the mountains. As I'm sure a lot of people hoped, Altaïr is also in the game as a playable character. There are of course a couple of other new NPC characters such as Prince Suleyman. And for even more good news, they said it would have a refined multiplayer with cool new game modes and whatnot.

In summary, this looks like it will be an awesome game.

Windows 8 to be released in 2012

Windows 8 isn't the official name, but Microsoft's CEO referred to it as such and claimed a 2012 release date. It may not be the end of Microsoft slapping random acronyms onto their software, or like Vista, just random words. Well, why should PC gamers care? Mostly because Microsoft claimed the new operating system would be a powerful gaming force, rather than a hindrance to it. They have been saying that for a while, but one of the more promising signs was Fable 3 being a proper PC game rather than a hasty port.

At this point it seems like the new thing in Windows 8 will be it's suitability for tablets, netbooks, and lower-end machines. We don't know much about what's to be in Windows 8 except for what few things we could find on very early leaked builds and test feedback. We assume it will be a ribbon-based interface, like the new Office 2011. It'll also have  native PDF and ISO reading, a new theme (as always) and, most tellingly, an app store. That could be good news for games, as long as it doesn't become a complete and utter disaster.

As Ballmer said at a Tokyo press conference, reports Develop, “As we look forward to the next generation of Windows systems, which will come out next year, there’s a whole lot more coming. As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors.”

You can find various proto-screenshots of the new OS’s early, internal builds on the Windows Supersite, if you really want to.
